Liposuction 360 Full Body Liposuction

Liposuction 360

Full body liposuction, or liposuction 360, is a comprehensive body contouring procedure. Lipo 360 typically involves liposuction of the entire midsection (abdomen and back), but can incorporate other areas, as well. Unlike traditional liposuction which typically removes fat from one area of the body at a time, liposuction 360 targets multiple areas of stubborn fat in one procedure. The end result is a leaner looking body contours.

Liposuction 360 is popular among women and men in New York City and throughout the nation, who seek dramatic results from liposuction surgery. As with traditional liposuction, it’s important to understand that lipo 360 is not a weight loss surgery. Candidates must have a stable body weight before surgery.

Common Areas for Liposuction

Body areas commonly treated with liposuction include the chest, abdomen, arms, waist, hips, thighs, back, bra roll, axilla, upper arms, chin, neck, and inner knees.

While liposuction 360 is typically performed on the midsection, any area treated with traditional liposuction also can be treated with lipo 360. Since lipo 360 removes fat and contours in a 360 degree fashion, the arms, buttocks, chest, face, and legs are all ideal focus areas.

Who is a Good Candidate for Liposuction 360?

Good candidates for liposuction 360 meet the following criteria:

  • Good overall health
  • Within 30% of their ideal weight
  • Healthy and elastic skin with no significant overhanging skin
  • Practice a healthy lifestyle
  • Realistic expectations

As with all procedures, individuals seeking lipo 360 will have a formal, in-depth consultation with Dr. Mahmood, a Board Certified plastic surgeon, to confirm that they are a good candidate.

Liposuction 360 Procedure

Liposuction 360 is performed with local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia. To begin the procedure, Dr. Mahmood makes small incisions in natural body creases near the treatment areas. She selects these natural body creases because they will hide the incision lines and scars.

Next, tumescent solution (a fluid mixture containing saline, an anesthetic medicine, and epinephrine) is infused in the fat between the skin and muscle. The solution contracts blood vessels to reduce bleeding and trauma to the tissue.

Following the tumescent solution, fat is then removed with a cannula. The cannula is attached to a suction device which facilitates the easy removal of fat and less bruising and swelling.

The total amount of time required for liposuction 360 is based on the number of treatment areas and the total volume of fat to be removed.

Recovery & After Care

Lipo 360 is an outpatient procedure which means patients can usually return home the same day. Patients must have someone to escort them home from surgery.

Compression garments are applied to treatment areas after surgery. These garments are essential both to reduce swelling and to help the skin retract and contour to the body. Compression garment wear is advised for four to six weeks, and as much as tolerated after that time.

Some soreness, swelling and bruising can occur after surgery and patients are prescribed a pain medication to take if needed during the recovery period.

Patients are advised to avoid vigorous exercise for four weeks.

Results

While liposuction results are immediate, the final results of lipo 360 procedures are most visible about three to six months after surgery. By this time, all swelling has resolved, revealing the new body contours. Nutrition and exercise are also an important aspect of maximizing and maintaining results.
